Looking to get active, pick up a new hobby, sign your child up for after school activities, or go to a class with your little one? Community Education has it all!
Community Education offers Enrichments, which provides fabulous classes for teens and adults of all ages in areas such as the arts, recreation, family education, fitness, personal and professional development, and so much more! Community Education also offers classes for anyone who did not finish high school and wants to obtain a General Education Development Certificate (GED)
Also under Community Education are the After School Activities, Early Childhood Family Education, and Project Compass programs. After School Activities provide programming for all 5th-8th grade students; public and non-public. The programs provide a variety of experiences that aid in the development of desirable habits and attitudes in students that will prepare them for adult life. Early Childhood Family Education offers parenting classes, play and learning activities for children, family events, community resource information, and a library of books, toys and learning materials to all families with children between the ages of birth and kindergarten. Project Compass classes are open to all in the community, specializing in slower paced classes for all, customized classes for people with disabilities, parent and professional development workshops and support groups.
You can also schedule a Welcome Baby Visit, where a Baby Connector listens to parents’ concerns and answers questions, or sign up for Parents Forever, a 4-part educational series for families transitioning through the divorce process. One can also sign up their children for an early childhood screening, Rollingstone or community pre-school and Key Kids after school or summer care. Community Education really is a great resource for the community.
