As a Lions Club member, you’ll join a local group of service-minded men and women who are doing local volunteer work to support your community – right now. Meetings are at Elks Lodge 327 on the 2nd Thursday of the month, except July – August. 6pm social and 6:30pm meeting start.
The mission of the Polish Cultural Institute and Museum is to collect, exhibit, interpret and disseminate the heritage of the Kashubian Polish Culture.
Volunteers needed for a once monthly commitment. There is no age limitation. Physical needs would be walking, standing and minimal light bending. No lifting. Ongoing opportunities include tour guides, housekeeping, maintenance, typing, computer work.

Winona’s Park and Recreation Department coordinates youth and adult activities, programming, equipment rental, and facility rental at the City’s many parks and recreational resources. The Park and Recreation webpage includes information on parks, trails, special events, sports leagues, creative workshops, trainings, and a number of other recreational opportunities.
While programs and services have evolved throughout history to remain relevant to the Winona community, the foundation and mission have been steadfast.

A FREE drop-in recreation center. All are invited to come and play. Free access to a gym, table tennis, pool tables, skate park, and preschool open gym with toys.
Patrons must be at least 6 years old to attend the ERC without an adult.
Membership is required but free. Participants will need to provide current address, phone number and emergency contact as well as take a membership photo.

Volunteer
The Winona Friendship Center has a variety of volunteer opportunities. The Center is selected as a Retired Senior Volunteer Station and many volunteers are needed to perform light clerical duties, assist in collaborative programs, work in subcommittees, help with special events and recreational programs. If you would like to help out with any of these opportunities, please email the Friendship Center at FriendshipCenter@ci.winona.mn.us
Friendships Forever is a current volunteer need. Volunteers will go into the homes of older adults who can not physically make it to the Friendship Center. The volunteer will then Skype with the Center, using one of the Center’s iPads, so the older adult is able to participate in Friendship Center programs from the comfort of their own home. Looking for approximately one hour per week. Call 507-454-5212 for more information.

Boats and Bluegrass is a family friendly festival held on the Mississippi River in Winona, Minnesota. They pride themselves on providing a fun, safe, and friendly festival environment. If you are looking for a laid-back festival with none of the large-fest hassles, this is your place. With camping just 50 yards from the festival grounds, it does not get any easier. So come check it out!
Festival is held in late September at Prairie Island in Winona.
Mission Statement
The Frozen River Film Festival offers documentary films and programming that engage, educate and activate our community to become involved in the world.
The Frozen River Film Festival seeks to:
Educate audiences by offering documentary films and discussions on issues of local, regional and world importance.
Offer diverse points-of-view through the sharing of personal encounters dealing with world issues and nature.
Provide opportunities for debate, discussion and discourse on a variety of topics important to our community.
Encourage action on the part of each festival participant.

Mid West Music Fest was a first-of-its-kind event in the area that brought together more than 70 bands and musical acts at various venues around the community to raise funds for local non-profit organizations. This is a volunteer-driven festival.
Mid West Music Fest hosts two festivals per year—one in Winona, Minnesota and one in La Crosse, WI—featuring regional acts from all genres of music.
The mission of the MWMF is to promote music and art in the region, creating opportunities for artists, stimulating downtown economic development, and providing diverse educational resources for artists, community members, and children.
The Minnesota Beethoven Festival depends on volunteers to help staff concerts including box office staff and ushers. Volunteers receive reserved seating for the concerts with which they help.
The Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts exists to provide quality arts education and performance by nurturing and encouraging artistic expression in children and adults. Their service to the community ranges from recreational to pre-professional dance and performing arts curriculum and programming designed to provide physical and aesthetic benefits, heightened self-respect, discipline, and confidence.

About MMAM:
The Minnesota Marine Art Museum is a nonprofit art museum that engages visitors in meaningful visual art experiences through education and exhibitions that explore the ongoing and historic human relationship with water. Located in Winona, Minnesota, the purpose-built museum is located on the banks of the Mississippi River and boasts six galleries, an educational and events space, and a destination retail shop on its seven acre riverside campus. It is through this surprising diversity that MMAM is not only describing what marine art is, but pushing the boundaries of what marine art can be.
Volunteer:
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization, the Minnesota Marine Art Museum relies on thousands of annual work hours by its generous corps of volunteers. Volunteering allows you an opportunity to share your talents with the community, connect with other people who share your interest, and support MMAM’s mission. Volunteer greeters play a significant role in helping make people feel welcome as they explore the museum. They serve as gallery attendants to keep our visitors and artwork safe, answer questions and point out resources.

The Great River Shakespeare Festival (GRSF) is a nonprofit, professional Equity theatre company in Winona, MN, dedicated to dynamic productions of Shakespeare’s plays, extensive education and community outreach programs, and comprehensive theatre training.
Help involve people of all ages and backgrounds in conversation relevant to their lives, community, and world, by volunteering with this incredible event. The Friends of Will are volunteers who support the work of the Great River Shakespeare Festival. All Friends of Will are ambassadors and GRSF representatives to the community and theater patrons. The goal of the Performance Center at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota is to be Southeastern Minnesota’s premier performing arts center, bringing artists and community together through imaginative programming, unique collaborations, a welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional service. The Performance Center strives to be the venue through which artists and community connect, where audiences can experience a variety of cultures through quality performances of music, theatre and dance, and discover the relevance of the arts in their daily lives.
VOLUNTEER
Each year, over 23,000 people attend events at Saint Mary’s Performance Center. Volunteers play a critical role
in helping bring performing arts and educational events to the Winona community!
USHERING
Hand out programs, take tickets, and assist patrons. When you usher for an event, you attend for free! Events that require ushers occur between September and April. Ushering availability can be found online at http://www.pagetheatre.org by clicking on “About Us” and then “Volunteer”. Must be capable of standing for longer periods of time and be able to navigate stairs easily.
DISTRIBUTION
Put up posters or drop off materials at locations around town—this can even be done while running errands! Must possess valid driver’s license and be able to walk for a longer period of time.
OFFICE ASSISTANCE
From time to time, we can use help with projects such as stuffing and stapling event programs, organizing files, and
more.

Committed to the development and production of high-quality programs in the performing arts, particularly those that address important contemporary or historical issues. It is their aim to integrate artistic excellence and originality with a sense of community in the Winona area and beyond.
The Winona Arts Center is committed to increasing community awareness of the arts by featuring work of visual artists, providing space for performances, readings, films and encouraging participation in workshops, demonstrations, and classes, for children and adults in our community. The Winona Arts Center and local artists often collaborate to offer classes and workshops for the community.
The Watkins Gallery is named for Paul Watkins, who donated part of his private collection to Winona State in the 1920s. The Watkins Gallery is 644 square feet, features 20-foot ceilings and a glass façade at the gallery’s entrance.
The gallery hosts both student and visiting artist exhibitions, open on campus in Watkins Hall Mon-Tue and Thur-Fri 9am – 4pm, Wed 9am-8pm.
The Winona County Historical Society is in the southeast corner of Minnesota. Operating three museums and offer a wide variety of exhibits, programs, workshops and events. Many researchers of all levels find The Laird Lucas Library and Archives, housed in the Winona County History Center, a valuable resource.

Visitor Services/Gift Shop:
Looking for outgoing people who can multi-task to work at the front desk. You will be responsible for answering the phone, directing visitors, ticket and shop sales, and admissions. Minimum requirement of 2 three-hour shifts each month. Shifts are 10 am- 1 pm or 1- 4 pm Monday through Friday. Those interested in applying can stop in and fill out an application at the History Center.
