Know the Truth™ is a free, secular, educational resource offered to Minnesota schools. KTT’s core program offers a substance use prevention curriculum delivered as part of the schools’ health class curriculum to middle school and high school youth, aged 12-19 years. Our mission is to prevent teen substance use in Minnesota; we pursue this by partnering annually with 200+ Minnesota schools to educate nearly 60,000 middle school and high school students, as well as by collaborating with parents, educators, law enforcement, and other community leaders to build awareness of, and provide education regarding, local substance use issues.  Ultimately our goal is to reduce risk factors and enhance protective factors that work to save lives and build safer, stronger communities.

Since 2006, our Know the Truth prevention advocates have educated more than 543,000 Minnesota youth in classrooms using our evidence-based curriculum, interactive peer to peer approach, and by creating open dialogue to discuss topics ranging from peer pressure to healthy coping skills.  Our 24/7 text hotline enables students to have direct access to a Know the Truth™ prevention advocate. We also provide resource guides so students have access to more support, if needed.  In addition to classroom presentations, we partner with communities to offer parent education forums, at which we share relevant information provided directly from local students.  Contact us today for more information.
