Description:
The 4-H idea is simple: help young people and their families gain the skills they need to be proactive forces in their communities and develop ideas for a more innovative economy.
The aim of Winona County 4-H is to engage local area youth in experiential learning. This process is enhanced through connections with local community partners, Land Grant institutions, and of course volunteers. Winona County 4-H believes that communities benefit when youth are engaged, thus we strive to give opportunities so that every participant feels valued and recognized for their unique talents.
4-H’s research-based, learn-by-doing model equips kids with skills such as problem solving, decision making and communicating — essential for them to succeed in school, college, careers and communities. Volunteers have a role to play in 4-H clubs, after-school programs, community service, civic engagement and camping programs.
4-H offers a number of training opportunities throughout the year where volunteers learn about leading clubs, projects and more.
