The Winona County Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) is a community coalition that started in 2012 to increase collaboration and reduce youth substance use. They use a public health approach to address local drug trends and promote healthy choices through annual campaigns and events. Some of their close partners include Winona Health, Live Well Winona, the Winona County Sheriff’s Office and Police Department, the Treatment Court of WInona County, and Winona Area Public Schools.
ASAP received federal grant funding in 2015 and 2020 from the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program through the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
