The WSU Children’s Center exists as a hub of learning and service for university and community residents by:

  1. Providing comprehensive early education & care programs for children aged six weeks through fourth grade at two sites.  There is an on-campus site at Wabasha Hall and an off-campus site at Madison Elementary School.  The Center hours are 7 am – 5:30 pm daily, 12 months/year.
  2. Mentoring university students seeking licensure in education and related fields through practicum and employment opportunities.
  3. Creating relationships and sharing resources with practicing early childhood professionals through the newly opened Early Childhood Professional Development Center.
  4. Connecting university students with children to Winona State’s Student Parent Program.

Winona State University has provided recognized early childhood education and care since 1973.  All Center programs are licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services, accredited by  NAEYC, and have 4-star ratings from Minnesota’s Parent Aware Quality Rating System.
